Happy 1st Advent!

Happy 1st Advent!
My first burlap wreath is finished. It ended up to be a wall wreath instead of an advent wreath.
My plan was to make it into an advent wreath with 4 candles, but since I didn't have either candles nor
candle holders on hand, I decided to hang it up .....   and I like it!

Still making bears!

Just wanted to let everybody know, I am still making bears, just not as many as before.
Reason is the little guy in the photo, my cute grandson.
I am enjoying him so much and spend each moment I can with him.
It is amazing to see a helpless tiny baby develop into an active toddler!
Time flies by too fast, so I like to set my priorities right!
Everybody have a wonderful day!

I am glad to have finished another bear and would like to introduce Eliza to you!

Eliza is available for adoption on Bear Pile:
She is crocheted, one-of-a-kind and stands about 6 inches tall.

Slowly but surely it is getting a little more pleasant. It is still very warm but not as humid as it was until now. Have probably said it a hundred times before: I can't wait for fall to arrive!

Thomas, a new bear!

I am happy to introduce a new bear: Thomas !

Thomas is now available for adoption on Bear Pile:
He is one-of-a-kind, crocheted and stands about 5 inches tall.
For the last year my life has become so busy, I don't know where time goes!
I hardly find time to update my blog, but I always make sure there is a little time left for making/crocheting my bearkidz babies.
Hopefully I will be able soon to introduce a sibling to Thomas!
Everybody have a wonderful day!

I don't know where the time went, but I just noticed that I have neglected my blog for quite a while.

Some of the reasons are travel and of course my adorable grandson, whom I spend as much time as I possibly can with!

It took a little longer than usually, but I was able to finish another bear.

Jackson is my latest bear. He is crocheted, one-of-a-kind and stands about 8 inches tall.
He is available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting him, you can either send me an email: or got to my website: and contact me via the contact form.

Yellow and Mr. Purple

This cute pair is available for adoption on Bear Pile:
Yellow is crocheted from a variety of yarns. He stands about 7" tall and is one-of-a-kind. His head is cotter pin jointed, his limbs are thread-jointed. His eyes are premium German glass eyes and his nose is a shiny black glass nose. I have applied subtle shading with dry oil paints to his paw pads.

He is dressed in a crocheted hat and knitted vest, all handmade by me just for him.

Yellow is accompanied by his friend Mr. Purple, a needle felted tiny bear, 4 “ tall and 5-way thread-jointed.

He will also come with two vintage wooden building blocks.
I wish everybody a wonderful weekend!

A mohair bear for a change

It has been a while that I made a bear from mohair fabric.
This one stands 8 inches tall and has a needle felted face.

I enjoyed making this little one a lot and I still have some fabric left.
Maybe soon there will be a sibling!

Tampa Show 2013

These two will also come with me to the Tampa Bear Show on Feb. 24, 2013.
The Steiff bear is one of my personal collection from the 50s and the white bear is obviously one of my crocheted bears.

We don't have snow very often, maybe one day per year a little dusting!
Last year we didn't even have this one day!
Yesterday evening it started snowing and this morning there was still some left on the ground. It looks so pretty, but it is sooo cold! That makes me even more looking forward to next weekend's show in Tampa (Florida).
I wish everybody a nice Sunday!

A new bear is finished! Her name is Autumn and she will come with me to the Tampa Bear Show (Florida) on February 24, 2013. At this great show I will offer many more of my bears for adoption.

Back home

I am back home. The show was great and the Florida weather was perfect!
I would have loved to take more pictures from the show but had only my phone and this was running out of batterie! Too bad, but I was able to take at least a couple of pictures. The doll in the first picture was really beautiful ..... and huge! I wouldnt know where to find a spot in my house for it.

I took these pictures on my morning walk yesterday in Palm Beach.
Today we drove to Florida's West Coast where I had a first successful day at the Naples doll and bear show. I am looking forward to having another great show day tomorrow.

Naples (Florida) bear and doll show

I am packed and ready to leave for Florida.
In Naples is the annual doll and bear show taking place (January 18. and 19.).
Among my other bears and dolls, these 4 little ones will travel with me and be available at the show.
Just the long drive doesn't excite me! 10 hours + in the car is a long time!

Barnaby, my first bear in 2013

My first bear in 2013 is Barnaby!
He is crocheted and stands about 9 inches tall.
I knitted his colorful vest and made a cute duckie-necklace!
Barnaby will be available at the Naples doll and bear show in Florida (Jan. 18 - 19, 2013)
