This is Charles, a new crocheted bear.
Charles is available for adoption on Bear Pile: http://www.bearpile.com/item/58453

This little guy looks so much cuter in person. I would have loved to take better pictures, but the mosquitos are so bad that I really don't want to go outside again. It is hot and humid, a mosquito paradise. Yesterday I went to our local farmer's market and bought some soap that according to the sales person keeps mosquitos away. Since it was all organic without chemicals I was very excited. You rub it on your exposed skin and the strong peppermint smell should keep the little pests away.  Didn't work with me! As soon as I was outside to take pictures for just minutes, I got attacked by hoards of mosquitos and decided, whatever pictures were in my camera, needed to do the trick.
I am ready for fall!

Panning gold

Yesterday we went to Reed Gold Mine: http://www.nchistoricsites.org/reed/reed.htm
It is the site of the first documented gold find in the United States.
We had a great time and ..... I found gold!
We were instructed how to do the panning and at the end I was rewarded with finding a tiny gold piece on the bottom of my pan.
Too small to make me rich in terms of money, but it made me rich in another experience!
So much fun!

Raspberry

This is Raspberry!
She reminded me of a colorful berry when I looked at her after she was finished.
She has the softest "fur" and is crocheted from a beautiful feathery yarn with tiny "nubbies" in rainbow colors.
Raspberry stands 8.5 inches tall and is available for adoption on Bear Pile:

Hot, humid and lots of mosquitos

I have finished another bear and wanted to take pictures of it.
After being attacked by hoards of mosquitos I had to stop and will try again tomorrow.

Weather at the moment is crazy. Over the weekend we had 110 degrees (39 degrees celsius) and then a short rain and hail storm. Today, in the evening, it is still hot and humid, mosquito-paradise!

However, this is the right time for some water-aerobics!
