Frankie is my newest crocheted bear. Finally I got to take and post a picture. Little Frankie wears his bow tie and is ready for the Holidays. He is up for adoption and if you would like to know more please contact me.
My new bear is finished and dressed but I haven't had a chance to take a picture yet. There is just so much to do before Christmas and never enough time! Since both my daughters are December-girls my agenda was filled with Birthdays until now and now I better get started to find some Christmas gifts! lol
Last week went by so quickly ..... ! It was very cold but still sunny which I actually liked a lot. I am almost finished crocheting a new bear and will post pictures as soon as I have finished this little one. Looking at him now I would say he is about 8 1/2 inches tall and will be very cute!
Friday and Saturday I attended a doll/bear show in South Carolina where several of my bears found a new family. For myself I couldn't resist to adopt a 35 inches tall Patti Playpal type doll! She is huge! But she is so cute and I am glad I finally gave in and got one.
Had a really enjoyable day. Set up my Christmas tree and decorated the house. I also finished little Timmy. Timmy is one of a kind, entirely crocheted and stands about 11 inches tall. His best friend is his little needle felted dog Buster.
I am wishing everybody a wonderful beginning of the week!
We could enjoy another beautiful fall day. We means me, my cat Mexx and German Shepherd Raven. Leaves are falling like snow and covering the ground, just the perfect blanket for Mexx and Raven to lie in the sun! The weatherman says: another beautiful day tomorrow. I am looking forward to it!
Finally I got to finish another bearkidz bear. William is one of the few bearkidz boys I have made. Most of them turn out to be girls! He is 11 inches tall and as all my bears entirely crocheted, no pattern ever used. He is available for adoption. I will also list him on my website.
I have been very busy during the last 2 weeks and didn't get to post anything in my blog.
The weather was and still is beautiful and I wished I would have been able to enjoy the outdoors. Mother nature painted wonderful fall pictures with the most amazing colors. Whenever I got a chance I had to take photos of the colorful leaves which don't even come close to the real experience.
Halloween is over and it was another beautiful day. On Saturday we took the dogs to a Halloween parade. All dogs were dressed up and my daughter's German Shepherd won first place as the best dressed dog! Yesterday we had a nice Halloween dinner at my daughter's house and lots of trick or treaters came to get some of the delicious candy. They all looked so cute!
Today is once again a perfect fall day! I am working on another bear which I will hopefully be able to finish this week. But first I will take a long walk with my dog, the day is just too inviting!
The day is so beautiful, I decided to spend my time outside. Got my computer, some crochet stuff, a cup of tea and my cat Mexx and dog Raven and I am having a great Sunday in my backyard. We have blue sky, the sun is shining, leaves are falling, temperatures are great, just the perfect fall day.
I am posting pictures of my bear girl Zoe. She is one of a kind and stands 8" (20cm) tall. With her warm and fuzzy little jacket she is ready for a cold winter. Zoe is available for adoption and I will also list her on my website www.bearkidz.com. In case you would like to get more information on Zoe please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just got back from the Atlanta Show. It was a small show but I am very happy with the result. I met new people and made new friends. Several of my bears found new homes and all in all I had a great time. Theresa is one of the bears who got adopted.
Today another bearkidz bear was born: Lieschen. I had started to work on Lieschen before my trip to Germany. She waited patiently to be finished and finally I can introduce Lieschen to the bear world! She is one of a kind, entirely crocheted and stands about 9.5 inches (25 cm) tall. Lieschen is available for adoption and will be listed on my website.
I had another great day in Germany. On Saturday I will visit the Euro-Teddy in Essen. It is a wonderful opportunity to be surrounded by the most gorgeous teddy bears, antique or new and stock up on bear making supplies and accessories. Usually I meet other artist friends and can always add some new ones.
I wish everybody a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.
Not much posting for me! I am still in Germany and my time is filled with so many things that I have hardly any time to be on my computer. I am looking forward to the Euro-Teddy in Essen next week where I hopefully meet many of my bear artist friends as well as their beautiful creations.
Packing again! Just got back from a trip and I am starting to pack again. This time I am getting ready to go to good old Germany where I will also visit the Euro-Teddy. Time to get shopping for some bear making supplies!
We had a couple of wonderful days in NYC. We went to see a Broadway Show, had street food, walked China Town and little Italy, got to see designer shows at the New York Fashion Week, had dinner with old friends, and the best of all: I got to go to the US Open to see the men's singles final Nadal playing against Djokovic! What a treat!
Today I saw the first sign of fall in my front yard! A tiny bush has been changing its color to a beautiful reddish brown. I am thrilled, fall is finally on the way. With temperatures around 93 degrees it is still too warm. Although we have 2 more weeks of summer until September 21 when fall officially begins!
Can't wait to decorate the house with all the wonderful colors of autumn!
My weekend was surely perfect. My daughter came on Friday for a surprise visit and we had and are still having a great time. Even the weather played nice! She will have to leave tomorrow but I will see her again soon! Next Saturday my daughters and I will meet in NYC and spend a couple of days together! How much better can it get?!?
Time flies by too fast! I just saw that I hadn't posted anything since August 24.
My days are filled with too many things besides making my bears: There is walking the dogs, my visits to the gym, working on stuff that is sitting on my desk and just doesn't disappear all by itself, etc. I need to get things organized since I will go to NYC for a couple of days and almost right after go to visit good old Germany.
Louise is the new bearkidz baby I just finished. I dressed her in a vintage doll dress, socks and shoes and put a ribbon in her hair. Doesn't she look cute? She is one of a kind, 10 inches (25 cm) tall and as always crocheted from a variety of different garns. Her "fur" is very soft and it is fun to brush and "style" it. Louise will be offered for adoption on my website.
It was another very humid, warm and sunny day. As I said before: I am so ready for the fall!
At the moment I am working on another bear. I like the combination of yarns I am crocheting with. It makes a very soft "fur". It will take a while until I will be able to introduce my new baby but as soon as it is "born" I will post pictures.
It's a girl! My newest bear turned out to be a girl! Not really a surprise, since the pink yarn with the tiny pastel colored insets suggested a girl more than a boy. But one never knows! Theresa is one of a kind and stands 9 inches tall. She will be available through my website: www.bearkidz.com.
Thank you for voting for Amelia, she has placed in the URSA competition. Here is the link to a youtube video that shows all placed entries: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voEHprCrlvs&feature=player_embedded.
I had a great weekend. The temperatures were not exactly what I would have liked (it was too warm), but I had a nice time. The positive side of the heat: I got to give the dogs a bath outside and this is a much more pleasant adventure than bathing them in the house. Now both have a soft shiny coat and smell doggie-fresh!
Today Oliver was "born". I have been working on this little baby boy for a while and can finally introduce him. He is entirely crocheted and truly one of a kind. He is 10inches tall and comes dressed in a German vintage baby jacket. Around his neck he wears a little rattle tied to a baby blue ribbon. A crocheted cuddle blanket finishes his accessories.
Oliver is available for adoption. In case you would like to know more, please contact me.
My daughter came to visit and left today. We had a great time and I am missing having her around.
Now it is back to working on bears again. At the moment I am working on another yellow bear, crocheted from yellow and white soft whispy eyelash yarns. At this time I don't know if it will be a girl or a boy, but somehow I have a feeling it will be a girl. As soon as this little one is "born" I will post pictures.
It is so hot! Temperatures in the upper 90s and sometimes exceeding the 100 degrees are really not my thing! As I had said in one of my earlier posts, I am ready for fall! Enough of that heat!
I have been working on a new bear which turned out to look like he is ready for the cold. The combination of yarns I have used to crochet him resulted in a soft and fluffy "coat", hence his name: Shaggy. The color reminds me of ice! Just perfect when working in this heat. The little guy is 8.5 inches tall, one of a kind and as always crocheted without the use of any pattern. He comes with a crocheted collar and his wooden elephant on wheels.
He will be offered for adoption on my website. In case of any questions please send me an email to: email@example.com.
It's been a while since my last entry. I really don't know where the time went, suddenly we are in the middle of July already. I have been working on a new project, this time a little boy was born. I named him Peter because he just looks like Peter. He is one of a kind, crocheted from a variety of different yarns and stands about 9 inches tall. I knitted pants and put on shoes which give him stability and allow him to stand on his own. Peter wanted a toy, so I crocheted one from angora yarn. Peter's toy bear is made to look very simple and well loved, just the right cuddle companion for a bear boy. Peter will be available through my website.
